Video Votes

I am officially in the running for Telluride TV’s First Annual Video Awards Ceremony. Now all I need are some votes. I’m going to be posting quite a bit to try to rack up the points. Not only is this my first video competition, it’s also a possibility that I’ll use this shirt film for my college submission.

Get onto Facebook and get voting! I know you want to. Follow this link: and like Telluride Inside and Out’s page I be able to view the videos.

Mine is called The Other 50%. Get cracking and know that if you vote for my film and you could win fabulous prizes worth more than $600!

Crazy Busy Life

Hey there ya’ll. Sorry that I’ve been out but I’ve been crazy busy (you’ll definitely hear that a lot this summer too). I’m working on my end-of-the-year film project and have been running around to finish interviews and b-roll before Tuesday (when it’s technically due). Yes, I am a procrastinator. Major. I only started thisYear Long project in January and haven’t done much since. Hopefully it’ll be good enough to pass. At least I only need clips to show all the crap I’ve been doing.

So starting soon, I might just have time to do this blog thing.

I can’t wait to show you all what I got! Believe it or not, I’ve put a lot of work into it (does not mean the same as time). This is super exciting. Especially since schools out SOON. Holy poop!

Best Mother’s Day

Sunday was super fun. I got to spend most of the day with my friends and then my mother and sister finally came home after the longest week I’ll probably ever know. We got to spend some time together before we all passed out, exhausted from our busy day.

I made chocolate dipped pretzels on Saturday and gave half of them to my mama and Mama Sue at church (my second mama). And went to church alone on Sunday. I got to make the flowers you see up there and grabbed some extra chocolate for my mama.

She’d been in Colorado Springs for the past week with my little sister. They were only supposed to stay until Thursday, but ended up staying until Sunday because she was put in the hospital with a double kidney infection. I’m just happy to have her home.

I’ve also been working on a special gift for her since January. I took all of my home videos and put them on DVD for her. I also took pieces of our videos and put them together in a sort of “music video”. She loved both of them and started crying as soon as she saw what it was. I love surprising her. 🙂 Success.

PS…you can see my edited piece here.

Invites Are Out

I had a close call last week when my mom threatened to take my birthday party away from me after we had a pretty bad fight. But thankfully, I convinced her to let me have one more chance. Now I have to be on my best behavior and hope that people will actually show (no one ever does…no matter how many people I invite, only 1 or 2 ever show up, so here’s hoping).
I’ve been working on the invites for a while, and now they’re finally done and printed out. I had the idea for a mustache party theme and was inspired by these super cute invites I found on Etsy. And then I saw this wonderful banner and decided to create my own.
Like the invites and banner, I’m making everything myself. Next weekend, I’m going back to Colorado Springs, and we’re going to raid Michael’s like no other! It’ll be super fun, especially since I’m the world’s-biggest-fan of DIY’s.
Now the only things I need to complete my party are:
  • black and white streamers
  • paper lanterns
  • stickable mustaches/mustache on stick (like here)
  • cupcake tops
  • centerpiece (mustache quote)
  • Ribbons!!!
