Movin’ On Out

If you’ve been wondering at all why I haven’t been posting at ALL lately, it’s because we’re in moving mode. I’ve barely even convinced my mom to keep the internet on so I can still use my iphone. On top of all the moving, I’m still working and planning a little thing called VBS (it’s really not little at all). So to say I’ve been busy is an understatement. I’m a bit stressed right now, but there’s only a few days left.

My mom just left to pick up our dog Izzabelle, who I haven’t seen since like, Christmas. I’m super excited, but it’ll be short lived since I’m not moving with my mom.

My sister’s cat had her kittens finally, three healthy ones and one that was still-born. She’s turned into quite a little mama, but we hope they’ll all survive the move in four days. It’s a long one…thankfully, they’re only going to Colorado Springs and not California. I’m sure Stephie will be super happy to see her baby again.

On other news, I’m starting a new video project for the local television’s first Video Awards. I really want to win because I could soooo very much use that $250. Like major. I’m saving up for a Macbook Pro of my own.

I haven’t been posting ANY of the pictures from anything, so I will in a few days. There’s even stuff from before the 4th that I have to share. But here are a few pictures from last weekend at Meghan’s Sweet Sixteen Party.

I’ll Be Missing You…

My mom was supposed to come home yesterday after spending a week in Colorado Springs with my sisters. She was on her way back up when her tire blew, taking out some wires and her headlight with it. It was crazy and I’m thankful it didn’t do anything worse and that she’s safe.

But that means she’s going to be there for at least a few more days. We’re hoping her insurance will pay for a car like last time (man…that car was a babe). And hopefully we’ll be able to buy another one soon so that we won’t be car-less, again.

It isn’t that hard to get around in this small town without a car. It’s just that my work schedule isn’t working with the bus schedule. I keep having to go into town over an hour before work and staying an hour or two afterwards. Plus, without a car, we can’t go buy groceries in Montrose since the nearest Walmart is two hours away.

I’m just hoping things will work out. This seems to always happen when we’re moving. So much stress right now!

5 Things I Miss Most About The City

I miss having a washer machine in my house. It’s been over a year since I could wash my clothes when I needed to without having to pay. It may sound silly to all of you with washer machines until you realize how hard to gets to have to wait to wash your clothes once a month.

I definitely can’t wait to be able to play on the driveway again. There are honestly no driveways in Telluride (where we live now). This means there is no way to go outside and play without having to walk to some place else. Plus, we haven’t had a backyard in ages.

I cannot stress this enough. Our closest super market is over an hour away. Our closest mall is over two miles away and it’s only a strip of boring stores, stuck together. I’m not a total city girl, but I do love having my favorite stores nearby. I can’t wait to be able to visit them when I want, once again.

Call me crazy, but my favorite thing to do is drive on the freeway. Not me personally (I still panic when there’s more than two lanes). But my favorite way to transport is through the freeway. When I was little I used to imagine it was the road that moved, like a ride at the amusement park. It’s still fun to think like that.

5. Breathing Room

Aw…the power of having many rooms and possibility of multiple floors just make me smile. We were living in a one-floor apartment before, and we almost killed each other because we could never get away. Bigger houses = less bitchy household.

All Moved Out

I’m always highly impressed with my family’s ability to get things done. Within one week, we completed moving out of an apartment and into a new “house”. With only one small car, one truck, and three extra people. We are AMAZING.
We’re not completely done unpacking, but we’re pretty far along so far.
Just working away…

Our beautiful new view 🙂

The beginning steps of packing. Includes: sore backs, greasy foods, and lots and lots of boxes!
And of course it snowed the whole weekend

start of our moving (shot from my bedroom)…

I’ll make sure to keep you updated. I’m hoping to give ya’ll a little tour of our house later. We’ll see how well it works out. Excuses the messes.
I’m so excited about our new house. It is amazing. We’re actually doing some Christmas decorating at this moment. Can’t wait.
See ya’ll soon,
Kristie

Newly News

Since last Saturday, we were officially looking to get a new place. Well, we got it. It’s officially ours today. We went last night to check it out and to sign papers and the place is AMAZING. I honestly can’t describe how excited I am.
There’s this really cute staircase up to my loft “room.” Yeah, I get this whole amazing place to myself with my own bathroom and everything. I told my friend Arianna (see here) that I would make a sort of shrine of her in one of my windows. I think she liked it.
I absolutely can’t wait to show the pictures up here. My sister and I already decided on a plan for how we’re going to decorate it. Christmas will look beautiful there.
Ugh! can’t wait!
More tomorrow…
This is awesome,
Kristie
