Moving On…

I am officially done working for Telluride TV. I’m actually pretty happy about that. I only started the job last year for money and then it turned into being for experience, and then money again. Now I’m done and I could move on.

Apparently everyone else feels this way because Gigi won’t be coming back. Sam is leaving in September for California (lots of hope for that). And Dave is also leaving after two years for some other place (maybe in Chicago).

It’s good for us. There’s not much you can do in local television, there’s no room to stretch. We’re all probably going to miss some aspect of it. For me, it was always a place of laughing to tears, of learning how to have fun at work and learning about what I love. I’m going to miss the people more than the company, for sure.

Still, there won’t be tears.

Fun Life

I’m finally finished with VBS which is definitely bringing me different emotions. I’m so freaking exhausted (so exhausted that this morning I woke up sick because of the little sleep I’ve been receiving. I also miss all the crazy, jumping up and down mornings.

I’ll be more active now that it’s over but here are a few favorite shots of the week.

— parachute games

— waking up early

— guitar sessions

Movin’ On Out

If you’ve been wondering at all why I haven’t been posting at ALL lately, it’s because we’re in moving mode. I’ve barely even convinced my mom to keep the internet on so I can still use my iphone. On top of all the moving, I’m still working and planning a little thing called VBS (it’s really not little at all). So to say I’ve been busy is an understatement. I’m a bit stressed right now, but there’s only a few days left.

My mom just left to pick up our dog Izzabelle, who I haven’t seen since like, Christmas. I’m super excited, but it’ll be short lived since I’m not moving with my mom.

My sister’s cat had her kittens finally, three healthy ones and one that was still-born. She’s turned into quite a little mama, but we hope they’ll all survive the move in four days. It’s a long one…thankfully, they’re only going to Colorado Springs and not California. I’m sure Stephie will be super happy to see her baby again.

On other news, I’m starting a new video project for the local television’s first Video Awards. I really want to win because I could soooo very much use that $250. Like major. I’m saving up for a Macbook Pro of my own.

I haven’t been posting ANY of the pictures from anything, so I will in a few days. There’s even stuff from before the 4th that I have to share. But here are a few pictures from last weekend at Meghan’s Sweet Sixteen Party.

Good Night Books

I remember, when I was little and sharing a room with my sister, Bekah, she used to read me this book every night before we went to bed. She’d only read a chapter or two and we never actually finished the book (well…she did on her own time). And I wanted to do the same thing for my little sister. I was only about 7 when this happened, so I’m a bit behind (Steph is 11).

But last night, I started reading Treasure Island, one of my all-time favorite books, to her. I asked her this morning if she’d even heard or understood any of it, and she actually did listen. She was caught up on the physical descriptions of the “captain” and totally digging it.

I found it yesterday on our shopping trip in this small little used book store. I fell in love with the old cover and had to buy it. I also bought another books from the classic section, but can’t remember the name right now.

Best Mother’s Day

Sunday was super fun. I got to spend most of the day with my friends and then my mother and sister finally came home after the longest week I’ll probably ever know. We got to spend some time together before we all passed out, exhausted from our busy day.

I made chocolate dipped pretzels on Saturday and gave half of them to my mama and Mama Sue at church (my second mama). And went to church alone on Sunday. I got to make the flowers you see up there and grabbed some extra chocolate for my mama.

She’d been in Colorado Springs for the past week with my little sister. They were only supposed to stay until Thursday, but ended up staying until Sunday because she was put in the hospital with a double kidney infection. I’m just happy to have her home.

I’ve also been working on a special gift for her since January. I took all of my home videos and put them on DVD for her. I also took pieces of our videos and put them together in a sort of “music video”. She loved both of them and started crying as soon as she saw what it was. I love surprising her. 🙂 Success.

PS…you can see my edited piece here.
